La cantante neozelandesa y la banda estadounidense que se hizo famosa por el tema Radioactivelideran el rnking de aspirantes al trofeo con12 categoras, cada uno.

Los artistas postulan a la principal seccin del premio: la demejor cancin del Hot 100 junto con Blurred Lines de Robin Thicke, Roar de Katy Perry y Wrecking Ball de Miley Cyrus.
